Scissors
Scissors are your most important tool after your vise. Fly tying specific are a must. Well-made, usually finely serrated, blades are the best. Scissor handle loops must be large enough to allow your fingers to be quite comfortable on your fingers (most tiers keep them there while tying). Those described as “All Purpose” are just that. You can acquire specialized scissors for larger and smaller flies later. Protect your tying scissors by using some old nail clippers for material like wire and lead.
