R3242 Fuji PLS Palm Support Seat

PLS is a longstanding choice in Fuji’s reel seat line-up in a size 20 bottom fishing and jigging rods, but we’ve often wondered what would happen with a little re-design and an eye toward freshwater. We thought it would be good, turns out it’s great. When you think about the trigger on a casting seat, did you ever wonder who decided to put it BETWEEN your fingers? By the end of the day you can easily bruise that tender little spot between your pinky and ring finger or even rub a blister there if you’re using a “high-action” lure. All so you don’t accidently sling the rod out in the lake on a cast. Some builders have started experimenting with “triggerless” casting rods but we think you’ll agree this is a better solution. PLS is made to fish with all four fingers AHEAD of the trigger. Big deal, right? Turns out, it is. Now the trigger is resting on the side of your palm - a pretty tough place you’re not going to wear out in a day’s fishing. The trigger is sized and designed to fit comfortably there. But, the best thing is the angle of your hand and wrist relative to the rod. Standard seats require you to bend your wrist forward to palm the reel, PLS allows your wrist to remain in a straighter line with your arm. Think of the angle your hand assumes when shaking hands with a friend...now put a PLS in there. The new version is lighter size 18, has a slightly smaller re-designed trigger and a blank-touch window on the lower side. Next time you’re feeling “unconventional” you should give this seat a try.
